Ministries Prevailed

As we seek the Lord on a daily basis, we find ourselves knowing that we are like lost sheep. The New Testament displays the story of God’s creation of human existence from the beginning until now. This entails that there is a ministry that reveals the truth to display our identity in Christ. Daily questions of discovering the relevancy of life are at hand.

Also, humans may ask themselves what is the reason for being here? Knowing the answer to these questions is essential for clarity in life. The Bible answers all of these questions. This brief teaching will explain what the Bible calls ministries. The apostles discovered this as they sought the answer for themselves.

The Bible tells us that we have this ministry in 2 Corinthians 4:1.

Therefore, since through God’s mercy we have this ministry, we do not lose heart.

Defining Ministry

Ministry is a term that can have different meanings depending on the context. In general, ministry refers to the act of serving or helping others in the name of God. Everyone has a ministry and it can also refer to the office, duties, or functions.

There are many other titles of a minister, such as priests, pastor, elder, or deacon.

Often it can also refer to the group of ministers who govern a nation or state. When speaking about ministry it can also refer to the period of time that a minister serves in office or in a church.

Ministry is derived from the Latin word ministerium, which means “service” or “attendance”. The word ministry is related to the word minister, which means “servant” or “assistant”. In the New Testament, the Lord is the ultimate example of ministry. Scripture teaches that Jesus Christ came to serve and not to be served (Matthew 20:28).

He also taught his disciples to follow his example and serve one another (John 13:14-15). In the body of Christ, it is clear that life is renewed by the indwelling of the Holy Ghost, the next step is to establish the specific ministry one has. Participating in various forms of ministry according to the gifts and abilities is essential. ( Romans 12:4-8; 1 Corinthians 12:4-31; Ephesians 4:11-16; 1 Peter 4:10-11).

I pray that the truth will make you free to be open to learning what your ministry is.
